Bravo Portugalete! Less Organic Waste / More Recycling and Pneumatic Waste Collection!

According Mikel torres (Mayor of Portugalete) and GorKa Etxabe’s words, the beautiful and pioneering City from the North of Spain has one more year increased the recycling ratio over organic waste by a magnific 7.3%. The City of Portugalete is member of IPWVA since the being and they have deployed the Pneumatic waste collection over 50% of the City.From the association we congratulate and encourage the City to keep working in this direction. The symposium for Designing Waste: Strategies for a Zero Waste City, an exhibition organized by AIA New York | Center for Architecture and based on the Zero Waste Design Guidelines. Designing Waste explores how architects, designers, and building professionals can help NYC achieve its goal of sending zero waste to landfills by 2030, focusing on a particular segment of the waste stream: the brief period between when we discard something and it rolls away on the back of a truck.
